An arrangement of scattered forms

Selections from a personal rock collection float in the quiet void of the Windows 3.1 screensaver Starfield Simulation, a formerly ubiquitous solution to the problem of computer monitor burn-in, since rendered unnecessary by technological development.

Juxtaposing intimate objects and vignettes against this nostalgic backdrop, An Arrangement of Scattered Forms reflects on the ongoing transition from a culture coded by material memory—a photo in a scrapbook, the pixelated imprint of a ghost image—to a present marked by new forms of amnesia and melancholy.
